5 years or so ago, two Alarm suppliers in the UK (Acumen was one of them!) both made budget alarms. A simple, value-for-money alarm. But the budget alarm dissapeared of fthe radar so to speak, with the increase of Thatcham-approved systems. With the current recession and the Home Office saying crime is going to increase, Acumen bring the latest technology to the budget end of the system;low current drain and a true movement sensor (not just a shock sensor, like previous alarm sin the budget end of the market.)

Acumen's CAT1.1 has class-leading 1.8mA current draw (substantially less when in sleep mode) and is the smallest Thatcham CAT1 alarm available today - so it intrudes less on any space you may have. Totally waterproof resin encapsulated electronics and waterproof Automotive-specification connectors rated to IP67 for ultimate reliability. Resists jet washing and water to a depth of 1 metre! Acumen are STILL the only alarm manufacturer to use waterproof connectors. You wouldn't dream of seeing a motorcycle manufacturer use non-waterproof connectors on the motorcycle Engine management system, so why accept non-waterproof connectors on an alarm/immobiliser system?
THREE sirens. yes, 3. One siren for what is probably the loudest Thatcham system, and two back-up sirens in case the primary siren is attacked. the Secondary, back-up, sirens are behind a metal plate for added security and also have their own driver circuit for added reliability.
